Hello Xanga world, I am not going to start off with a cliche saying like "it has been awhile" or "I forgot my xanga existed" but I will say I use this xanga to read people's sites rather than writing in my own. I may start writing more because my life has gotten more and more interesting over the past two months and it is always nice to keep a little momento about interesting parts in one's life. So here goes: I have been dating this wonderful new young lady for the last two months now. She and I met on Facebook ironically, but you would never know by how we interact and how much we have in common and how quickly we were able to establish a common bond that you see when people in drum corp's meet etc. Some people say that meeting this way is kinda strange and weird, but I don't think it is. Facebook is not a dating website, and I definately did not go in with the intentions of meeting someone. It just worked out that way and instead of shying away from it, I will embrace it. We wouldn't have met any other way. I spent this past weekend up at her aunt's cabin. I got to meet the brother for the first time, and actually interacted with her father and mom for more than 5 minutes. I only met her parents once before and it was not for very long. Her family is amazingly nice. The dad asked a million questions of course but he genuinely was interested in what I had to say and the conversation was easy, kinda like talking to one of your friends. Golfed with her brother, mom, dad, and aunt on Saturday morning and it was a lot of fun. The GF says that I was brave to go with her family when she was not with, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Otherwise we spent a lot of the time playing games, going out to eat, hanging out, etc. Very good weekend. Has anyone played Dutch Blitz? In other news I am preparing to take some insurance classes starting in September. The classes should help further my career in insuance and climb that elusive corporate ladder. Hope to be done with the first program by the beginning of summer next year. Then there is another sequence of classes that I want to take that will take probobly 2 years if I do all the classes in succession without stopping. That is the plan right now, knowing me that always changes...hopefully I can stay the course. The Fighting Carp's fall season is off to a great start. We are 2-0 and playing well. It is always good to play well, more fun, but more importantly it is good to see all of the people on the team on a regular basis. Hope everyone is having a great summer so far. Stay dry. I need a workout friend...anyone? |
